Tape Transfer & Photo Montage
For basic transfers, we will use our professional videotape players to transfer your video directly to DVD without the need for an intermediate source that may cause audio synch problems or other transfer quality issues. We record the FULL source tape even if there is less than the 2-hour maximum of video on it.
For authored transfers we first move your analog video source to a digital tape medium that does not degrade the quality at all. From this digital source we can then transfer an identical video stream to our authoring stations without the fear of audio synch problems or other abnormalities. We'll then clean up the video beginning and end segments and author the DVD with the menu that you have chosen. We only use professional equipment during these processes.
DVDs from tape are as good as your original source media. DVDs produced from film are subject to many different factors, mainly the age of the film. We use the best practices when transferring film & video to DVD to ensure lasting quality of your movies.
DVD Authoring
Using DVD technology, a full-length feature film can be stored with 8 audiotracks and 32 subtitle streams on a single disc the size of a CD. In addition, the program can be broken up into 'chapters', with a menu screen that allows a selection of specific sequences and the required language.
The DVD standard allows for playback of high-quality MPEG2 video. MPEG2 supports 'chapter points' providing the ability to skip instantly to specific positions in the video - ideal for training purposes - and multiple audio streams - ideal for different language versions.
